Speaking, Listening

Today I met with HeeLee but since it was only the second day of class she didn't have any homework. So we spent our time talking and giving her a chance to practice her listening and speaking skills. She also informed me that she passed her finals and had moved on to the next level in her classes (except for one), I was very happy for her and we decided to continue meeting through this next session. I did have her do one exercise for me we so we could do something productive today. I had HeeLee read a handout out loud that she had gotten in one of her classes to practice her fluidity in speaking. She read the paragraph and then I read the paragraph again to let her hear how someone else sounded and then I had her read it again. The second time I noticed a definite boost in her performance. The idea and importance of repetition is now becoming more clear. I want to try more things like this with her in the future.
