I went to pick up my partner, and we bonded in the car on the way to campus. She told me that her father had finally given her her new name! The first part of her name means that you like something, and the second part means becoming wise and knowledgeable.
The movie was good but I probably wouldn't see it again. My partner understood a majority of the concepts, only missing a few things because it was hard to hear or something. Once the movie was over we chatted easily about plot twists and the meaning of the ending.
I've only met with this partner twice, but I can definitely sense an improvement in the fluidity of her English. Which is good, because she has expressed concern for that before. She recorded a part of our conversation in the car for her class and asked me when I would use the words "neither" and "either." She also asked about being afraid "of" something instead of "at" something and being mad "at" someone instead of mad "of" someone. English is hard, y'all.
