This was the most difficult tutoring session I had with PJ. PJ had an assignment that broke down a paragraph into a topic sentence and supporting sentences. I had a lot of difficulty explaining this break down of paragraphs. I kept skipping around and had a hard time focusing on one explanation. PJ and I both grew frustrated with the assignment, me for not being able to explain it effectively and PJ for not understanding what I was saying. PJ eventually grew too frustrated to finish the assignment.
This tutoring session changed my perspective on how to tutor children. I need to focus my explanations to make them simpler and easier to understand. In addition I jump around too much while tutoring, instead i need to remained on one subject.
