I meet with my conversation partner Daree on Thursday and took him to food truck Thursdays. Unfortunately he has been to this event before, nonetheless we still had a great time. I picked him up at his place around 6:30 and once he entered my car I could immediately smell his cologne. It was refreshing since I did not smell like roses after running around campus all day. He is from Kuwait. I think the nice smelling cologne is part of Kuwait culture because every male I have met that is from Kuwait always smells good. Then again I am only assuming, I could be wrong. Once we got to Lake Ella we ordered pizza and sat in the grass to listen to the live music. We exchanged conversation comparing the differences of culture in the U.S and Kuwait. Our conversation reminded me how blessed I am to so much freedom. Daree is 18 and plans on studying mechanical engineering. I admire Daree because since he has lived in Tallahassee he is able to do social things with his American friends, like go to clubs and bars, and not be tempted to indulge in typical college student behavior. He is a very intelligent and healthy individual that I look forward to getting to know better.
