For my conversation partner I had an 18 year old named Sanad, from Kuwait. We met at Chik-Fil-A and immediately realized that his English speaking skills were excellent. We spoke about where he came from, and the differences between our countries. He explained how here in Tallahassee people walk everywhere but in Kuwait everyone drives their cars, no one walks the streets. When I asked why he explained how the temperature in Kuwait during this time of year is usually over 115 degrees Fahrenheit! He told me how Kuwait is basically a desert and the only thing that they have is giant shopping malls.
We then talked about how he liked Tallahassee, he thinks the campus is beautiful, but he has to take a taxi everywhere he goes. I told him how he should walk around campus on game day because Tallahassee really transforms into something different. I also invited him to go canoeing but when the day came to go he wasn't interested. I look forward to meeting with Sanad again, he is a really nice and speaks English very well.
