Andy and I observed Gales tutoring session with her Brazilian students. There were 3 of them and they were at about a level 2 speaking level. To start of the tutoring session Gale explained the rules of scrable a game were playing, but there would be no points all someone had to do was use the word they played in a sentence. All of us played including Andy and I. We played words that students did not know the meaning of. Gale would explain the meaning of the word and then would ask one of the Brazilian students to use the word in a sentence. If they had difficulty Gale would use scaffolding, helping the student as little as possible in order for them to come up with the correct form of a sentence.
Overall the lesson was very fun, the students enjoyed it and learned from it. From Gale's lesson I planned out some lessons for my own student who I tutor.
