For one of my last tutoring sessions with PJ we had to read a story and answer questions. PJ performed very well, I would ask him to read 2 sentences and give me a brief summary of what happened. PJ performed well, only having to go back to the story 2 times to answer questions. PJ understood each question and answered them perfectly.
After reading the story and answering comprehension questions, PJ and I played "Guess Who". Guess Who is a board game for children, I believe it helps students develop their English speaking and listening skills. The game starts out with each player having a board full of different characters faces, each player also gets assigned an individual character who is on the board. Players must hide what player they have assigned. The goal of the game is to successfully guess who the other player has assigned to them by eliminating all other characters until only one character is left. To do this players must alternate asking and answering yes or no questions about the others character. Some example questions would be "Is your character a boy?" "Does your character have blonde hair?".
PJ and I played this for 20 minutes and he loved the game, he got really into it and even beat me a couple of times. I explained to PJ what the difference between a mustache and a beard was, I also told him what "blonde" meant.
Overall I think this was the best session I've ever had with PJ.
