Conversation Partner Meeting No. 2

WJB, FSU Campus

My meeting with Sepideh was another great one. We decided to meet inside of her office again in West Johnson Building. Today when I arrived, she was working on a Power Point presentation for one of her classes. The presentation was on the ethics of animal testing. She showed me her Power Point and I helped her in a few areas, mainly with word usage. She asked me what a few words meant as well. After that, I asked about how her presentation went that we worked on from last week. She told me that she did a really great job and her professor was impressed with her work!

We talked about a lot of things, with topics ranging from her family, specifically her brother that she really wants to move to the United States so that he can study here. As well as American men in general and why they are the way that they are (not wanting to commit,marriage not on their minds, etc.) which happens to be quite different from how men are in Iran. We also talked about Arabic women who wear the burkas and head wraps. I was curious as to the reasons for this as well as the culture of male and female relationships in Iran.

We only had an hour to spend together since I had a meeting to go to, but nonetheless it was a great meeting full of laughter and new ideas that she enlightens me with.
