Harrison CP#1

On Wednesday, September 24, I was finally able to meet with a conversation partner. After several weeks of failed communication and no-shows, I asked for a new partner. Luckily, my new conversation partner, Jihun, was excited to hang out with a real red-blooded American.

In all honesty, I was a little worried about what I would do with my conversation partner because I'm not from Tallahassee. I visited my grandparents here every summer, so the only things I really know about are the Fun Station and the Natural History Museum. While I'm sure those are great fun for some people, I was nervous about what my partner's interests would be.

For our first meeting, we decided to have lunch together. We met up with two of his friends, Jack and Saned, at the Chili's on campus (side note: I thought it was crazy that there is a full scale sit down restaurant with a full service bar on campus. There is nothing like that at Auburn. I will have to write a letter to our board of trustees).

We had a LOT of time to hang out because the service was terribly slow. Nevertheless, I learned that Jihun is from Korea and hopes to take the TOEFL to study here in America. In addition to having a black belt in taekwondo, he is currently taking jiu jitsu classes and studied housing and interior design at school in Korea. A true renaissance man.

We had a great time getting to know each other and I look forward to further adventures.
