This past Wednesday, October 1 I met up with my conversation partner, Jihun, for lunch again. We again ate with his friends Jack and Saned. Fed up with the sub-par service at Chili's, we decided to sample the authentic American cuisine of...McDonald's.
In all seriousness, we again had a great time hanging out. This time, I learned that Jihun actually lives here with his aunt and uncle. He said it is nice to have a familiar home to live in but he also has to help out taking care of his niece and nephew and doing chores around the house. I suppose just getting out of the house is part of the reason he was excited to have a conversation partner. I also learned that he drives a scooter, so he's not entirely trapped at home, he just needs someone to show him around.
Jihun told me that one of the things he wanted to do was try buffalo wings, drink some beer, and watch football. The American kind of course. So, we decided to hang out Thursday night and do just that.
